UNE THEMATIQUE : LA RUE...
Pour ce nouvel opus, la rédaction d’Antidote a souhaité aborder l’une des plus grandes source d’inspiration de la mode car de la rue au catwalk, il n’y a qu’un pas... Qui se franchit plus que jamais dans les deux sens! Symptôme d’une époque, le hors champ des défilés fleurit sur les pages web des plus grands titres comme sur les innombrables blogs via la pratique du «Street Styling». Un phénomène révélant des styles souvent plus forts que le «total look» et bouleversant les codes de l’image de mode. Avec la volonté de traiter de l’ère du temps sans jamais tomber dans la simple tendance, Yann Weber a ainsi voulu livrer un tour d’horizon des personnages inspirants que nous croisons ou que nous fantasmons, tout en les magnifiant pour l’occasion. Véritable galerie de portraits atypiques, cet Antidote se devait donc d’être saisi sur le vif en extérieur par le maître du genre...
UN ARTISTE : HANS FEURER
Pour sublimer ces personnages composés entre Paris et Miami, Hans Feurer est apparu comme une évidence. Figure de proue de la photo de mode de rue, il incarne l’inverse de l’esthétique «studio» avec son téléobjectif et son absence d’artifice. En véritable maître de la lumière naturelle, toutes ses images ont été prises au lever du soleil ou à la lueur des derniers rayons... A chaque fois, il s’agissait de trouver l’exposition parfaite pour capter ces beautés en action, de manière vivante et spontanée. Tour à tour, les mannequins se sont prêtées au jeu du metteur en scène, nous livrant ainsi autant d’héroïnes que de photos. Soit, plus de 150 au total. Ce fut donc un privilège de l’accueillir comme invité d’honneur et de s’inscrire dans la lignée des grands titres qu’il a marqué de son empreinte depuis les années 70 : Vogue (US, Japon, Paris), Interview, Another, I-D, Numéro et bien d’autres encore.

For this new opus, the Antidote editorial team wanted to tackle one of the greatest sources of inspiration to the fashion industry. It’s no more than a step from the street to the catwalk…and today it’s crossed more than ever in both directions! A symptom of an era, off-site shows flourish on the web pages of the most important titles as much as on the innumerable Street Style blogs. This phenomenon highlights styles
that are often more powerful than the “total look” and is overturning the image of the fashion business. Wishing to engage with the spirit of the moment in a manner that was not just “following the fashion”, Yann Weber also wanted to provide a panorama of the inspiring people that we deal with or that we fantasise about, and glorify them for the occasion. A gallery of atypical portraits, this issue of Antidote needed to be shot live on location by the master of the genre….

To exalt these characters created between Paris and Miami, Hans Feurer was the obvious choice. The figurehead of street fashion photography, with his telephoto lens and absence of artifice he stands for the complete opposite of the “studio” aesthetic. A true master of the use of natural light, all his photos are taken either as the sun is rising or in the glow of sunset. And he knows just how to organise the exposure to show his beautiful models vibrantly and spontaneously in action every time. They, in turn, threw themselves into the game to return a series of heroic images. More than 150 in all. It was a privilege to welcome Hans as our guest of honour and add Antidote to the list of famous titles that he has shot for since the 1970s: Vogue (US, Japan, France), Interview, Another, I-D, Numéro and many more.
